It's a very common narrative expedient, where one takes off his/hers glasses and instantly becomes a jaw dropping beauty.
In the hh version of the story there was a little step more: mc takes off his glasses, and by starting focusing all of his attention to how astonishingly handsome he is, he manages to change his facial features into something more appealing. Thi secon part of this "beauty/charm enhancement ability" went lost in the gh resraw of the story (his face remains the same).
While, yes, this expedient isn't the nicest towards people with glasses in general (hey guys, I'm one of you), I honestly think KK isn't discriminating us, and that it was only a joke on that trope. Afterall, mc has glasses in every other chapter of past (and future) story, and in 300+ guys and girls' affection scenes (where his face appears, at least)
