>>2801171So, there are two problems:
1. The first objective is to prevent requests that ask for things like “Hey, can you draw this random dude?”, and it’s an innocent bystander. As much as there is a world of difference between a rando and Tom Holland, people will fight for technicalities. “Oh, but this guy was an extra for blah blah show, and...” This shit leads to thread fights which was posts and drive artists away. So the easiest solution is to deny real people entirely.
2) This is the bigger one. The thread has an 18+ rule for requested characters, so no characters who are minors can be requested. However, there is a lot of leeway. The main goal is to avoid shota and such, but a lot of anime or game characters who LOOK like 18+ tend to get through the radar due to lack of information or apathy. And honestly, that’s not a big deal. ...We really can’t roll with that shit with real life people AT ALL! The minute that something like that goes under the radar, the artist who made it (most of them are not anonymous, sharing Twitters) will get a lot of shit, and that’s going keep artists away.
These rules are less “commandments of what is what isn’t allowed, no exceptions at all” and more guidelines to prevent stuff we REALLY don’t want. We have Power Ranger requests that use actor images, and a lot of odd requests that request porn of actors in odd movies or shows. And those are fine.
It’s better to have a YouTuber thread because it will attract artists who are more comfortable drawing real subjects and not cause drama on the drawthread.
