Pictures of real people are better to use as a reference than 3d models or other drawings for a reason, they teach you about the limits of the body and the movement of the muscles under the skin and the position of the bones, also basic proportions, like limb length related to the rest of the body and stuff.
3d models can literally be folded into a pretzel that clips into itself and if you already have a surface level knowledge on how it all works that won't really help you in the long run (also is super obvious when people use 3d models as reference)
And using drawings from other people as reference should only be used once you got the fundamentals down, else you risk assimilating their errors.
