Which titles that were licensed were being released by scan groups?
I'm glad I was a scanlator back when publishers didn't give a fuck about BL and there was this whole world to unpack and discover... There are many gems that'll never be either scanlated or licensed, that's the real shame.
There's no way groups working on mangas that: stand out, are recent, popular, interesting, from big magazines, well-known authors etc... aren't aware, deep inside, that there's a high chance they'll get licensed eventually, when nowadays you have renta and futekiya; yeah, I bet it stings, it sucks, but they can't act like they were never expecting such a thing at all...
You wanna feel safe, go for older mangas, webcomics, titles from lesser-known authors/magazines... you can get an idea of which mangas would have it harder to strike a license deal... Just sayin', you can't be salty/heartbroken forever...
