>>2580459>Yaoi Bara and BLThe contradictions are painful.
Yaoi is a short story format that is basically 2 guys walking to a room a fuck. There's no build up, no climax, or deeper meaning to the encounter. Maybe they didn't know that Y.A.O.I. is Japanese acronym expressing just that?
This means Yaoi and BL are mutually exclusive, because BL follows the building relations between 2 boys coming together in adolescents and then how their relationship ends or falls apart in adulthood. It's a literal fucking tragedy, if they don't hate each others guts by the end they'll be covered in them.
Of course "bara" is generally use as a body type adjective, but as a noun - the genre - it's an examination of a relationship of adult males in unique sexual situations. They don't just fuck because they're horny, they fuck because they are compelled too for one reason or another. So it can't also be BL because there is no adolescents bonding.
I'd be willing to concede that the game could simultaneously be "Yaoi" and "Bara" if outside the bara dating paradigm the PC had faceless sexual encounters on a train or at a glory hole, for example.
But having played the Demo.
There is no game clock. The player chooses which cell to enter because the "Incubi" are actually dimensional aliens who came through a portal. The PC is in quarantine with them and is basically a butler. Everything is provided for, so there is no resource management. Not even a libido or willpower gauge that influence choices and outcomes. And because the Incubi are naturally promiscuous they are always ready and willing to fuck you in their cells.
This is very much a Visual Novel only. From what I've seen, "Bara" isn't even a close approximation. It's more a speculative Sci-Fi given that the Incubi are in holding cells with no volition and no way to reciprocate an actual relationship, and erotic Intrigue, since they can only act out their natures in predictable ways based on their personality.
