>and you sound defeatistThere's not a SINGLE department in the WORLD that has a lot of power and isn't involved in corruption scandals. It happens in the US with Pentagon, it happens on EU with just about everything, it happens on Latin America... The problem is that you are not taking into account the fact that the redistribution of resources which happens with taxes and social welfare RELIES on human resources, CORRUPTIBLE, human resources, making such redistribution. There's several methods of corrupting even the most honest person on earth, they go from threats to slowly making them dip into it. A good example is how everyone has something to hide, because we are human, so they will find it, and unless you accept their proposal of gaining X to do Y, they will expose you, and then your career is ruined, and you have to consider between doing the good you want to do, or accepting this small "transaction" of favors, and once you do that, then they REALLY have something to use against you, and you have to do their bidding. That's making the implication that a person COULD get elected without accepting money in exchange of favors from someone, and believe me, no socialist ever does. Corruption is innate of politics, your job is limiting government power so they can do less damage.
