Threads that could have easily merged into another thread now take up a space a slightly more niche, difficult to maintain thread might have used. Then then you can just slippery slope into making super specific boarda for every little thing.
Let's say I have a pic of Aizawa, a pic of Dabi, and a pic or Todoroki. If there is one MHA thread, all of these pics will only bump on thread, minimizing the space the thread takes up on the board. Character threads are the greatest degradation of this process, but even an adult thread and a student thread takes up unnecessary room an will 404 some other unsuspecting thread. And this is why MHA threads get shit on so much and people are starting to insist on a merged thread.
