>>2524901You're going to have a rough time. You need to build an outside fanbase first, and most people are not interested in reading stories that aren't fanfiction. Honestly I would suggest you start by writing some fanfic first and round up some followers who like your writing/art style, then try to open a supplemental patreon. You'll have a difficult time if you're just starting out and trying to grow an audience on patreon right away, especially on (presumably?) original content.
Another thing to keep in mind is that your audience might be a little different. The patreons these threads focus on are purely porn for the most part. Unless you're doing a series of PWPs then the people who end up pledging to you might be really different from the types of people in these threads. So this might not be the best place to come for advice. They will steer you in certain directions that might not be best for your business.
But you asked if there is a market there, and there definitely is. These threads are evidence that there is a market for drawn porn, obviously. I also follow a few fanfic writers who are earning a lot of money on patreon just writing stories. You just have to think about what you have to offer that's unique. And you have to actually put your work out there somewhere to see if people actually like it before asking people to pay money for it.
Sage for kind of OT
