>>2482530as a gay guy i gotta tell you, heteronormativity is and always will be be the standard and the norm. it is not wrong, its completely neutral. taking on a more feminine role in the bedroom does not diminish someone's gender identity.
straight people will always be the majority and as such so will heteronormativity.
for example, a masculine trait is aggression. this doesnt mean women cant be aggressive, but it means on average, more men than women will be aggressive. its not a social construct either, its testosterone, of which men have eight to ten times more of then women do.
of course aspects of masuclinity and femininity are socially constructed, style of dress and color preferences for example. but most certainly not competitiveness, aggression, risk taking, (masculine/testosterone,) and nurturing, risk avoiding, being more self critical, (feminine/estrogen.)
a feminine trait would be nurturing, this does not mean that men cant be nurturing, but it does mean that more women than men on average will be.
penetration is typically an aggressive act. the receiving party is typically passive, this would be a more feminine role.
HOWEVER, penetration is not the end all be all, women who call the shots and power bottoms would be acting in the aggressive role despite receiving, in these cases penetrating isnt necessarily masculine.
but these cases are outliers, they are not the norm. again, not a bad thing, but a neutral thing.
why do post modernists like to think that because there are any exceptions whatsoever that tehre are no rules? i dont understand how someone could go their whole lives not believing in any absolutes.
