Hancock doesn't have a drug problem.
It really is just a habit for him. I'm pretty sure he could stop whenever he wants, he just doesn't want to. And doesn't need to, it's not hurting him like it hurt Cait. And i think that's because he's in control of it. He even says, before he killed the old mayor of Goodneighbor, he "went clean for a bit". Like it was nothing. Because it probably was nothing.
But i do wish they had made Hancock not be a druggy. Most people don't bother seeing anything about him past that. Just, "oh, i get it. A chem character, funny. Moving on" But i truly think he's the most complex character in the game minus the chems. Which... might not be saying much.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'd pound his ass til the next apocalypse too.
