I enjoy yaoi and dropped it twice. If I want a 2deep4u (or, rather, actually deep, not anime-level deep) discourse on history and politics I'd read some good non-fiction book, and if I want homosex I'd read manga, doujins or fanfics.
There won't be any canon gay stuff, only 'subtext' and even that pretty weak by modern standards. So if you expect canon gay, heavy subtext or copious BL fanservice, look elsewhere. Fun fact: author said he didn't intend any gay subtext and wants people to stop making lewd doujins and fics. Such a cuious blindness to the composition of your own TA.
