The other day at E-Hentai, Toriko-sama uploaded the raw to this story (titled 'Chigo' over there), a really clean copy.

I took it, the translated version toratora2 upload a while back (a great translation, but a bad copy of the story), layered them both together, did a few minor changes of my own, and hopefully it's good enough to replace the English copy over there.

The translator explained why he went with the title 'Protege' a couple of pages into the story.
