I similar doubts he'll finish This Probably Isn't Love, especially since I recall him mentioning something in the notes of 2 that he didn't quite understand the MC's personality as much as he'd like to. As a writer, that's a fucking death knell for a story. If you don't know your characters and you don't have at least a vague outline of where your story is going, you're setting yourself up for failure.
You have to know where to cut your creative losses, but at the same time, there are ways to minimize the amount of cutting you have to do.
