Yes, they are in middle school. The comic starts when Jin Yi just come back after 2 years... In certain point, He Tian start a flashback and it still ongoing untill now. So... basically 19 Days's story goes in a flashback.

In prologue Jian Yi have got unifom from high school, and zhan zheng xixi not bec he is in univerity or smtng like that. Sooo i think jian yi didn't pass 1 year in school. So i think they are 15-17.
