But yes, there are implications that Shiro, an amnesiac who suffered a year of alien prison, fighting in battle royale death arenas, being experimented on (the cyborg arm), and being built up to be the antagonist's ultimate weapon ala Winter Soldier, has severe mindbroken issues. Some theorize that he may end up joining the villains via mind control or reverting to his "perfect weapon" gladiator state.
