i don't really understand why most decent art/fic of alistair is het het het. every other fandom doesn't give a fuck about a male's canon sexual orientation, so why must dragon age be like that? why can't we get waves of gay/bi alistair getting paired with every random dude? other than "naturally beautiful and not like the other girls" self-insert wardens, i've only ever seen him get paired with zevran and cullen. i hate zevran, so i can't bring myself to ship it. now, cullen, i have nothing against, but it's just... so boring. they're too similar, with that naive-but-sweet-good-blond-guy trope. why can't people ship alistair with duncan, for example? he absolutely adored duncan, so there's plenty of material to go with that, and i've seen people shipping with less. one could even go with the hate-sex trope with loghain. but i guess he's too ugly, and duncan is too old (and dead) for most people to want to "spoil" their precious alistair with them. but then again, we could always use non-self-insert male wardens. i mean, the game is so old already, there's a bunch of mods to make alistair romanceable with male wardens. fandoms will never give a shit about canon anyway. what's preventing everyone?? WHY CAN'T WE HAVE MORE GAY ALISTAIR??? oh, if i had drawing skills...
