>>2204587I'm actually with you in part with that. I never got why Wincest was such a big thing. But I think, the big part, is that they're always sticking together. There's all these "emotional" moments that show their vulnerability to each other, and it makes it appealing that these guys have that. They very rarely let anyone else into their world, and a lot of the times it seems like it's only them against everyone else.
Castiel might have been a huge addition to the fandom, but as it stands, I think a lot of fans refuse to go with Destiel because Wincest was there first. Moreover, we keep seeing that Sam and Dean continue to have that bond no matter what.
I sometimes see it, like I can go, "Oh, I think I can ship this." But to be honest, I saw more of a pairing with Dean and Benny, but I don't know anymore....
