>>2189167The franchise is largely episodic. The only series that has a bit of plot is the Woman Called Fujiko Mine series and it's only 13 eps.
Other than that, Red Jacket's (Part 2) first episode references the 'hiatus' and the villain from Green Jacket (Part 1) and from there on out the franchise is just taken over bu hundreds of different writers so things contradict and stuff.
So, really, you can start anywhere. Watch the movies like Secret of Mamo or Castle of Cagliostro if you don't want to watch a lot of episodes but want to get used to some of the styles and characters before jumping into the new series this year.
There's a type of Lupin for everyone. Part 1/Fujiko Mine series Lupin is somewhat more grounded in realism and stuff while Red and onwards has been pretty ridiculous (but fun).
This new series looks like it's trying to be a mix of the more grounded Green Jacket but still keeping it fun. I read they want to keep things cool but blend in some comedy too.
The animation looks fucking amazing, either way. No surprise given it's by Telecom who I believe helped animate Cagliostro as well as Plot of the Fuma Clan and some of the later Red Jacket episodes. A+ team.
