As to why they make these decisions I have zero clue. It doesn't really make sense, all the framework is there but they make weird decisions which I don't think fans/consoomers will ever understand. Thats part of why people get frustrated, there's never really any decent explanation for changes that isn't just jargon or platitudes. Back in the day at least there were decent interviews in game magazines and videos.
Being mad at things like this is really all people have, they can't change anything and most people making these games are big corporations and employees that usually hate fans of the original material.
