Any vintage BL enjoyers here? A friend recently dug out a lovely piece of history called Gakuran Tengoku. It's one of the first titles to run in Reijin back in early 90's. Drawn by a male artist for a BL (not geicomi) magazine, it kind of straddles the two aesthetics. As it's a set of self-contained stories, some are more romantic others kinky, and some are just gag-skits. The variety is probably the best part of the manga, there's a little bit of everything - riba, small tops, muscular sporty guys, friends to lovers and masochistic teacher-student relationships, voyeurism and even some shota. And oddly enough all the stories are rather wholesome albeit in a very 90's way.
Tragically the manga is not translated, but as it's on MRM for free maybe it'll tempt some moonspeakers here (or those who just want to fap).

There is plenty non-isekai fantasy, they just don't get translated for some reason. We even have Yoake no Uta taking 2nd place in this year's Kono BL and first in Chilchil Awards.
There are many authors that mostly draw fantasy these days, like Saku Hiro, Haji, Monzen Yayoi, tacocasi, Kumaneko, Soutome Emu, Akihisa Teo etc.

I doubt a proofreader would help in this case if it's just a couple of people doing this for free without the experience.
This is always a problem with a literal translation versus a free translation. You have to worry that the meaning is being conveyed correctly. Sometime you can completely miss the correct context because there was a subtle difference you didn't notice. Which can contextualize the entire scene in a different way by mistake. It's something that you can only develop over time.

Their last scene are really nice, though I can understand why some anons feel bummed out after the epilogue, it does color them a bit negatively but eh. The way Hijiyama pretty much tells him he loves him and Okino "I will always be with you" are cute. Also the way he tries to play off his earlier confession as joke is very noticeable on replays. He's more into Hijiyama than he likes to admit and he uses sarcasm to deflect any rejection.

The death fake out is funny because it's totally how they used to kill off gay characters in old works.

Objectification is hot, vehicle, statue, robot etc. I wonder if any manga has a Pygmalion kink. There's one manga with a tailor I vaguely remember where a guy was used as a mannequin and dressed up but I don't think it leaned into the concept.

It was published by a BL company and the dudes don't look like transformers or anything. In this case, it's just a silly gijinka BL oneshot. And it's definitely not furry, a bus is not an animal.
It's not quite Pygmalion, but if you want something involving a statue, try Even Just the Tip/Sakitcho Dakedemo by Tojitsuki Hajime. I think I've also read one about a painting coming to life, but I can't remember its name.
