>>14426744Also for the matter of subconscious/consciousness/self-awareness (idea of selfhood)/etc, its not a mysterious thing at all but rather heavily misunderstood. First of all, subconscious/consciousness/self-awareness are different concepts that often gets mashed together.
>subconsciousI'll start from the base, what we have is a base layer of consciousness thats sometimes called the "subconscious" mind. This subconsciousness mind can be divided into two concepts. The base empty layer and the painted layer. The base layer is the pure filter, think of it like a blank white monitor. The painted layer is like that of a white noise. Both of these layers are not what we normally call as "conscious" but its always active in the background. A common understanding of consciousness entails the ability to recount what is happening. Aka "I'm typing, I'm watching movies, having discussions about mind images and consciousness/etc." Its the ability to recall whats happening. But even so, we can recall subconscious events. Subconscious suggestions are used to test this out. Series of images/words/sounds can be used against test subjects that are shown/heard in minute time period where conscious recollection is impossible but the images/words are later used to influence the behaviors.
>consciousConscious is the spotlight that we gives us the ability to recall details. Some say its similar to a flashlight, shining light onto a dark room. But that's missing the picture or rather that missing the inference layer. Consciousness has an inference layer. That filters out the noise and creates impressions. The inference is created by years of learning all throughout the life and helps us learn/identify new/old/strange/variants phenomenas (a memory bank of translated neuron firing patterns). So when look at a certain white noise and filter with local inference layer, we get images/sounds/etc. That's our "consciousness."
