Photons are basically little bits of light. Light particles, if you will. But they don't have mass, since they could not travel at the speed of light otherwise. They do interact with the environment, though, since that's the key principle of solar sails ("sol" meaning light, hence the word "solar"). Oh, any anyone who tells you that light has no particle form is a complete retard, so disregard them.

Not all electromagnetic waves have a 1:1 correspondence with a particle.
The photoelectric effect should never have invented photons.
Imagine the size of the photons of an EM wave lightyears in length. How would you measure those things?

That's actually interesting question, the shape of invidual photons if such one exists would be really complicated. All i can think of is traveling disk that resizes in a cycle depending on wavelength like a sine wave of traveling photon.
