Also on a more serious note, learning and understanding things (preferably fast) is a great skill but a more important and more rare skill is solving hard problems with the knowledge you have. Or better yet, creating new knowledge by observing stuff.
I always thought of myself as a genius until I realized I cannot do the last 2 with great efficiency, because they are hard.
