The Pope blessed Big Bang Theory soon after it was theorized by a Catholic school teacher in the 1940s... and since the Pope's word is infallible according to Catholics, and since they have a lot of money and power we been stuck with that stupid theory since even though redshift can be better explained by light losing energy through dark matter...

Incorrect. The Pope's statement's are only infallible when they are made "ex cathedra", which rarely happens. The Big Bang was not commented on ex cathedra so it is not infallible. The last time a Pope made a statement ex cathedra was in 1950 when the Immaculate Conception of Mary and the Assumption of Mary were declared to be infallible dogma.
For someone posting in /sci/, you're really bad at research.

Because the Pope is a heretical retard who doesn't get it. Basically there are two "truths", the "truth" of religion which isn't literally true but is perfect and unchangeable and just works, and the literal truth that science investigates which cannot be known perfectly, like how the universe was formed. You'd think only the literal truth matters, and yet it doesn't, which is why very few people care to know the details of our best theories about the formation of the universe, ask anyone who loves le science and what they know about the big bang theory can fit in a tweet, and none of it matters anyway. Only the "truth" of religion matters because it contains what people need to believe, it works well and any attempt to reject any of it seems to invariably result in very tangible disasters.

But heretics from Martin Luther to Pope Francis think the truth of religion could use being kept up to date, they mistakenly believe that reconciling dogma with the latest scientific theories makes their heresies better than the religion they deviate from. They are of course wrong, scientific theories are filled with errors and create confusion, even simple questions like nutrition are always in flux and the theories of 30 years ago (fat is... Religion suffers as a result of following scientific theories, retarded scientific theories from 300 years ago about the evils of masturbation influenced religious stances about it, and now we can either admit that we followed some retarded theory or persist in retardation. The irony of science is that while it brings us ever closer to the literal truth our understanding of that truth remains hopelessly flawed. It's as good as it gets yet it's also as bad as it gets.
