Last week I had a bout of dejavu and felt that I had heightened intuition. In an attempt to test myself I started predicting coin tosses.

After 66 flips I was maintaining a 75% average

Is the app broken or misleading?

Is this some sort of observer effect?

Am I just schizo and lucky?

I used the coin flip app from pearson education

My method was closing my eyes until the phosphenes literally formed a head or trails on the back of my eyelids. When I saw it clearly I was able to get the correct answer. When I got excited or couldn't make it out I would usually get it wrong. Typically the longer the win streak the more excited I would get and it would be harder to see.

Honestly I thought it was weird when I got the first 4 right. After 45 minutes of taking screenshots and sending pictures to my gf I decided to stop for some reason.

For a control I spammed another one without any thought and hit 50% average within a few flips.

Am I crazy?

Is the app misleading?

Did I predict or influence the outcome of the coin flips?

Interesting. I find that I get better results when I am exposed to white noise. It seems to filter out other noise from the environment.

What are the odds of getting 8 out of 9 when actively trying to predict flips?

How about 9 out of 10?

Is it still a statistical anomaly when I made a thread about predicting coin tosses then go and predict 9 out of 10 while making the thread?

I'm not trying to prove anything to (you) but I am genuinely curious how abnormal this is.

There are a surprising number of things that seem to use "true" RNG. It's probably a standard feature of modern computer chips. I dunno, go have fun with it. Casinos maybe?

A chance at the scale of the lottery would require a pretty large scale quantum coherence ritual, like a really dynamic and positive series of fortunate life events. I'm tempted to think applying concepts of information entropy and activation energy are useful here, but I'm really sure how beyond just having a lot of good vibes.

Too many variables and I don't think I can accurately predict or influence other people. Simple RNG based games where I can pick between 2 options like black or red on roulette would be ideal.

There's also something to be said about what sort of situations utilize RNG and if they're worth it in the first place. For whichever video games you enjoy playing, sure, but most of the time it's a whimsical or predatory environment.

Yeah this is what I was just typing about. It feels like running a mental marathon. I can make my best predictions late at night after eating 3 proper meals and having a strong cup of coffee or 200mg caffeine pill. I vape a couple large doses of THCA and keep a loud exhaust fan running. The white noise helps block out the environment and I am able to let go of my ego.

Demonstrably I am able to make accurate predictions. I've scared the shit out of people in the past just by "assuming" things based on intuition so it's always something that I have been aware of to some degree but never took the time to test myself.

I legitimately, consistently get a MUCH higher success rate if I try to meditate on and envision the coin flip first in the same place of my mind as hallucinations on psychedelics occur than if I randomly pick one repeatedly, I have done this over and over to test it and it is consistently about a 75-90% success rate envisioning and a 30-50% success rate randomly. Would love to see this done on a mass scale with more scientific methodology.

Oh yeah when I discovered this I was in the middle of a serious depression and smoking strong 15% sativa every day. The weed definitely amplifies paranoia and psychosis states, and the mental noise was so unbearable I had to stop. The best thing I can recommend is probably to go drug free. The drugs will only complicate the recovery/resensitization process, and if you're interested in trying to optimze your mental dexterity and focus, drug states honestly become a trade off to being sober.

This is what I did and I can confirm that I had the same results.

There was a study that found that people would subconsciously react to stimulus before they knew what it was. It really makes me question our understanding of of the way we perceive time and the order of events.

I don't feel psychic. I think hyper-intuition is a better way to describe it. I entered a state of depression at the age of 5 years old and vividly pictures the way I would kill myself if I ever needed to. Sometimes when I get into a deep hypnagogic state I start to feel disconnected from time. I will drift through memories as if I'm there. I can walk through alternate timelines as if they were regular memories. Sometimes I wonder what the difference is between one of these "alternate" memories and a real memory.

I agree. I describe it as intuition vs ego. Intuition says to pick tails again but the ego says that can't possibly happen because of the statistical probabilities. It's an interesting test.
