If you want a real function whose graph looks like that, then you're out of luck, but the implicit equation |xy|=1 yields that same graph

Well, a function, by definition, only outputs one value for every one of its inputs. The image OP posted cannot be the graph of any function, as, say, for x=1 the graph takes multiple values. So, it’s not a function.

The graph OP posted is an implicit relation. A circle is also something that can't be a function because it doesn't assign a unique y to a unique x.
