It's a very old study, so it's compared against voodoo in humans. A type of death from being boned in voodoo in humans is the same type as in these mice. The belief is what is important. But if one recovers from the hopelessness one is immune to this type of hopelessness death forever, i e one will at least try, both for humans and for mice, the study argues.
