Wouldn't the "smallest" particle title go on forever? Something must always consist of something else?

Is there talk of this in Science? Is this a thing?

If we look at the scale comparison of the 'horse head nebular" 3.5 lights years across compared to a single ant, surely there is room for even more dramatic difference from an atom to something else? No?
