Actually all important stuff in ML/DL is published in journals, only hyperparameter clowns publish in conferences exclusively, conerences are only advertisment for your real papers. Write more than 2 pages and try again

I don't know. Probably cause you don't have a direction outside wanting to go to grad school.

Just go get a job. It'll look better on your grad resume anyway.

Also, if your school is worth anything at all, apply for the grad program there. They basically can't deny you. If they do, it's grounds for a lawsuit because they're essentially saying their undergrad program doesn't prepare students for graduate school.
