School

I'm 32. I used to want to go into electrical engineering, but I no longer see the point. I teach elementary school (I don't teach gay shit) in a city where elementary teachers are overpaid. This career is not intellectually stimulating, but it affords me a decent amount of leisire time to program, manufacture PCBs, build stuff, etc. It doesn't really seem like many of the engineers here are particularly thrilled with their life choices either though. Is this just sour grapes? I think it's too late for me. On the other hand, I may well have dodged a bullet.

Can a formal education really compete with maturity and commitment?

Has your school finally sucked all the passion you once had for your subject out of you? Are you doing it for money now?

What would you change if you could start over?
