I personally believe that we’re approaching a new dark age, epistemologically speaking. We’re able to invent things that vastly outpace our ability to fully understand these advancements, and the ways in which they are irrevocably altering how we interact with one another. We’re inventing all these new tools without the slightest awareness of technics or for what purpose we should be wielding them. The internet is the perfect example- we created something that allows for instantaneous knowledge at our fingertips, and yet at no point in history have we been subjected to so much misinformation and weaponised ignorance.

i'm actually not so sure about this. there's certainly a lot of that going on right now, but like most human metrics this increases with our population. i mean, if we think about the rise of organized religion, misinformation has always been a massive part of human civilization, even without the internet. so while the internet enables this more rapidly on larger scale, it also enables the opposite. i think it's mostly a neutral force in this respect.

Yep. All the shit that they call ‘revolutionary’ or ‘exciting’ will be what kills us:

- Nuclear advancements
- Nanotechnology
- Genetics/Bioweapons
- Robotics, particularly when widespread 5G/6G/disaggregated infra allows for drone swarming
- Government/people responses to pandemics, climate change will cause cost of living to go up, then living to be impossible for more and more people causing unrest and war, and the unleashing of the first 4
