Should teaching students how to bound the error of a partial sum be an essential part of the high school math curriculum? It could help eliminate misconceptions like "to calculate an infinite sum you keep adding the terms forever."

They do teach it. And it sucks. It’s in AP calculus BC- Lagrange error thing. Also general error. Worst part of the test. Idk if that’s what you mean. Maybe something else, my bad if I misunderstood.

Eitherway, idk if there’s anyone retarded enough to believe that you can actually evaluate an infinite sum. I’m sure people are well aware they are approximations
