No one has built a neural network the size of a human brain yet, retard. When they do and if it doesn't work, then you can make this thread. The way we build computers is really good for doing lots of precise calculations but not as good at doing neural nets as bio-goo in terms of energy efficiency. Right now we've basically hacked a bunch of existing hardware to do something it's extremely suboptimal at. But the potential is definitely there, look at shit like the wafer scale engine cerebras is making or graphcore's IPU's.

Probably because each neuron calculations in the part of the brain that does reasoning are analog and not digital. I would assume each one is doing muiltiple things besides firing a 1 or 0 as well.

I literally just explained why. Read. Right now we simply can't because our current hardware can't handle it. But dedicated neural network processors are coming out and those will probably be capable of running human-scale neural nets or larger quite soon.

Because nobody has defined exactly what AGI actually is. As soon as you come up with a clear definition of AGI it will be easy to create. Whenever anybody talks about AGI they always have a humanoid robot in mind. But that's not what AGI is. AGI is software not hardware. But how to you interface with this AGI software? What kind of input data do you provide to it? What kind of output data does it produce? What is the format of that data? Most people would say the input data is the same data that human brains get. Audio, video, touch, balance, etc. If this is your answer then you don't really want AGI, you want a robot human.

We do not understand the brain of a fruit fly, much less that of a human, in terms of structure. Furthermore, "AI" research at best tries to mimic some outcomes of human behavior, but has never been about replicating or simulating it accurately.
Ironically, the best understanding of the human mind is probably found in the disciplines that seek to manipulate and exploit it's weaknesses, more than anything.
