Even if it's possible for an "artificial body" (by which I assume you mean an artificial brain also) to inhabit consciousness at all, you'd experience nothing special getting your "mind upload", and would continue on as if nothing happened unless you kill yourself under the deluded belief that you'll somehow resume in your robot body.

All consciousness is identical. Imagine you had two people and you slowly fused their brains. Neither of them would perceive their consciousness being split (although “both” would suddenly feel the new limbs and whatever) and they wouldn’t at any point perceive their consciousness being combined.
