>>14393880I arrived back in the big city from the west coast of Canada and was greeted by my family at the airport with a mask and a bunch of virtue signaling stuff about hand hygiene and whatnot.
The thing is later that week my sister is checking everyone's hand washing technique to make sure that it is sufficient but then also getting caught lacking when it comes to other aspects of reducing the possible spread. Ie handing her phone to people to look at memes, etc.
My point is that people who are dumb need strict rules because they actually cannot internally weigh what matters and what doesn't.
An example: keep this door locked at all times this rule is common in business and is listed like this because people are too stupid to understand that the door needs to be locked over the weekend when nobody is in the building, during the workday it barely matters.
Rules for covid are mostly the same: people are too dumb and short of attention to understand that even if they wear a mask in their car for a week straight when they drive to work on their own, they are still a vector if they do something dumb of their own accord. Hence broad rules for dumb idiots.
