>>14390797>It's shamed for women for an incredibly simple reason - because noone knows who the father is if the woman has been sleeping around. They know who the mother is - duh, but not who the father is.It's more than this. Think of it from a mix of "perturbation theory" and "natural selection" standpoints. Instead of thinking about perfect societies where everyone follows the rules, think about almost perfect societies where most people follow the rules but some people don't, as this is the reality of most societies. Who actually has the power to prevent the negative consequences of anti-social sexual behavior (single motherhood, darwinian spreading of anti-social phenotypes etc)?
Imagine two societies.
Society A, where the burden of chastity is on men, and a small handful of men refuse to comply.
Society B, where the burden of chastity is on women, and a small handful of women refuse to comply.
What happens in society A is that the small number of non-compliant men ruin ALL of the women.
This is because one man makes enough sperm to impregnate millions of women.
Localized non-compliance leads to global societal failure.
The 99% of men who did comply accomplished nothing, they just cucked themselves.
The 1% of non-compliant men completely negated their efforts.
There is no difference between 99% of men complying and 0% of men complying.
Ergo, individual men in society A are powerless, despite being straddled with responsibility.
What happens in society B is that the small number of non-compliant women only ruin themselves.
Localized non-compliance leads to localized failure.
The 99% of women who did comply actually accomplished something.
The 1% of non-compliant women didn't negate their efforts.
There is a massive difference between 99% of women complying and 0% of women complying.
Ergo, individual women in society B actually have the power to affect change, and thus this is the logical way to allocate individual responsibility.
