Reconciling Faith in God and Evolution

I’m finishing up this semester in my Evolutionary Biology class and still don’t know how to reconcile it with my faith in God. The two feel contradictory and I don’t want them to be. How can I as a scientist believe in God when the evidence shows that organisms give rise to new ones? Any good books on this?

I always thought we were created in the image of God, which to me means that humans were made to be in his image, it feels like an evolution of humans means we were not created by God

The more literally you the take the bible, the more wrong it becomes. Think of what is says in a more broad or nebulous sense. Though we have authorities we follow on interpretation of the bible, no one can say with certainty which parts were intended to be symbolical vs literal.

As a scientist, if new data proves your old belief wrong, you throw out your old belief. Trying to come up with ways to make the facts fit the narrative you want to believe is exactly how you ensure that you will never, ever be a scientist. You MUST overcome this impulse, or you are doomed as a real scientist.
