even in my physics elective as a pure maths major, in like the second class they said “it’s too complex to deal with the actual equations, and since it’s close enough, theta=sin(theta)”
so instead of actually doing pendulum motion, we approximated it
get ready to be approximating tons of shit and doing very little actual mathematics if you’re doing engineering or even physics
