I say the Bootes Void. Is it really empty, or are a bunch of black holes there, and we can actually see them with this thing? What if black holes are just so hot they don't emit light in the visible spectrum? What frequency do gravity waves correspond to?

The Bootes void isn't really that remarkable. It just became famous because it was the first void known. They're just regions which are underdense in galaxies, no black holes needed. Voids are ubiquitous in the large scale structure, many hundreds are known. It's also a bad target for JWST because it's a huge structure on the sky, JWST only has a small field of view.

Blackbody thermal emission covers a wide range of redshifts. Hotter objects don't stop emitting at a given wavelength.

Gravitational waves have basically no effect on anything other than the objects emitting them. The distortion is so tiny they are basically irrelevant.

He said both indirect AND direct detection, you tard. LIGO is the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory, of which there are two, one in Washington state and the other in Louisiana. Virgo is a similar laser interferometer facility in Italy. Both projects have directly detected gravity waves. The first gravity waves were detected by LIGO almost six years ago; some of the scientists got a Nobel for this work a year later.
