I also test at 131 and I have the same problem. I'm also a perfectionist with no work ethic and I blame my parents for not disciplining me at all. Since we're on the midwit/gifted cusp, we're in that sweet range of being gifted socially(midwit cope, but whatever works) and thus able to fake it like >>14383517 suggests. Also, I'm in graduate school if it makes you feel any better, so you can definitely pull through enough to advance yourself academically or professionally

Also, do you not know how to study or do you feel unmotivated to do it? Some people can't sit down to do it because spending time on it and getting an ok grade is humiliating to their intellect. Never got the point of "studying." If you go to the lectures and/or read the book(s) then you should be able to understand everything. Granted, there will be moments where you will have to pause and reflect on what the fuck was just expressed (if the author/speaker/editor decided to stop giving a shit about being understood) -- or even to look some new term up; but outside that, learning is a very straightforward process: just take in the knowledge. Even then, if you understand the foundational material, you can usually make inferences that right, and just guess your way through things.

I think 130 is just about right for you, OP. My biggest issue so far has been fighting against my human need for novelty and stimulation. I find it difficult to sit down for 15 hours a day and just read. My mind likes to wander and play, and the only way to achieve a very efficient learning schedule is through stimulants (and, regrettably, amphetamines).

Same here, started in graduate school. You can just start studying from now on tho. Some people in my graduate program did always do extra homework during the bachelors and are now also very quick at it in the masters. Just do more exercises now than is requested and you'll become better than anyone. Takes more than a few months to get this going tho

High school is designed for the average intellect, while college should be designed for 115 IQ. If you are 130 IQ, you are one standard deviation above your curriculum's difficulty (depending on your problem-solving orientation). It is significant but not significant enough to swim through the material. If you didin't develop discipline for lack of challenge, you don't have the tools to deal with the problem. Highly abstract problems are not intuitive and need time to be developed. Plenty of courses are useless information loading only to discard it after you pass the exam. And you know it is a huge waste of time so it's much harder for you to bite the bullet and memorize it. Most of college is about further developing social skills and discipline.

Turns out I'm not a dimwit, just a lazy bumfuck faggot. Why does this shit happen in the first place? I don't know my IQ, maybe I'm a dimwit for not realizing that being systematic is important? Should I go have it measured or live in ignorance? I can imagine online 15 minute tests are not terribly accurate.
