about five or so years ago, maybe longer, there was a strong trend of news articles about people dying accidentally in the act of taking selfies and then the trend died off.
what is the most likely scientific explanation for the end of the trend? did all of the articles cause ppl to stop taking dangerous selfies or did the news ppl just stop reporting the accidental suicides? it seems like the kind of thing science might have studied since it involves so much human death, but i'm not sure what field of science would be the one to do the research.
