>>14382292>Do human beings have an innate desire to have children and start a family, beyond our sexual desire? Some do. They call it baby fever. Just a love to have children to start a family.
Some probably just have genes that end up making the have more sex, and in the days before wildly available contraceptives, ended up having children because it is just a consequence.
Some even have children just because sex feels good without a condom. Low IQ people typically do that.
>is the desire to have children any more than a lifestyle aspiration, or is it linked to something more primitive in our brains? It is not really and is and or, but rather just the manifestation of genes in the environment. Words like "lifestyle" and "primitive" instincts don't convey what is actually going on.
When it comes to having children, having effective contraception that makes people only have kids when they want, and enjoy the pleasure of sex with or without that contraceptive, is a good route to take our evolution as a species.
It is a dramatic change, but I think it is a change that can be compatible in plenty of environments even outside the modern era.
After several generations through this, I would anticipate people would have kids out of having the IQ and desire to raise a child. It is just that now, we don't have effective contraception or a suitable environment for this to happen.
