Yeah uh this gif completely lost meaning halfway through, condensing the segments like that is an illegal move and results in a completely different shape than a sphere.

A sine can be a 2d circle by way of fourier transform. 2d circles are easily cubed into a 3d sphere. There absolutely are ways to define 4d spheres that look only 3d, there very likely is a particular equation for a circle that stays circular forever, my guess is that its very close to 1*pi.
