obviously the sequence $\mathbb{N} \to \mathbb{R}$ is
$a_n = n+1$ for $0 \le n \le 3$
$a_n = (-11)^{5-n}$ for $n \ge 4$

It's already equal to 10 at the 1+2+3+4 point and it only keeps growing. If it's positive at that point and keeps growing forever, it'll never reach a negative value of -1/12.

just move the last + in front of the 1 and write the 1 as 1.0 and move the ... after the 0
so you get +1.0... + 2 + 3 + 4 = -1/12

It is true in some sense.
The actual value of 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + ... is not numerical, but in some sense (not regarding the value) it's equivalent to -1/12.

Numbers eventually run out and then it overflows into negatives again but because 0 is a negative number the overall sum is slightly negative every time it goes around which results in a -1/12 in the end.

Yeah...
But you make some misunderstandings... first... it never reaches ANY value... and you assume like it "reaches" the value of -1/12 but nobody ever said that... they modeled ways to represent the sequence and -1/12 is one way to do so.
