Is that a general average? I find it hard to believe that a simple case of sniffles could do that. Someone who ends up intubated is another story.

The latest I've seen, the risk is extremely small if the person infected by BA.1 was unvaccinated. It's the vaccinated who aren't developing immunity to the variants moving further and further from the original wild type for which they were vaccinated.
