And that's why when you see Go-Pro footage from elite racing car drivers it looks bumpy and jittery as hell, while they are physically rattling around like that, their perception is relatively smooth?
Isn't that what all those tired old optical illusions tell us: the Gorilla suite man, split lines that say "the" and then the next word is again "the", the checker shadow illusion, motion induced blindness etc. etc. those are just bugs in the otherwise excellent faculties for creating the appearance of continuity?
