Basically, the trial and error type of world observation during our development would be gimped severely, if we couldn't link things happening around us to each other and make predictions and guesses based on it.
Information filtration is the ability to categorize incoming information and prioritize it, which, in turn, signals how individual comprehends incoming information.
The last one is quite obvious, if you can't imagine and picture some basic shit, you are kinda retarded. The ones that not only can picture and imagine it, but hold the concept in their head to actually put it on paper are usually talented people: scientists, musicians, artists, strategists.
