5g question

i have a question for you big brains, im doing my masters thesis (im studying buildings and energy) and i had a convo with my supervisor
he told me that basically 5g is an impossibility for now because of wall insulations. apperantly the waves cant penetrate the houses well enough because of insulation, and ive never heard about this and he told me most people dont know that. does this sound true or like bullshit?
what makes insulation special compared to other materials is its low heat conductivity and high porosity, does it have to do with that?
