calling this thing a "mars helicopter" feels pretentious but nonetheless i'm excited for its continued demonstrations. what i don't know is the practicality of this technology.
they can get this thing to hop maybe a kilometer at a time on a cold day, not very far. if this machine is scaled up with better batteries and bigger rotors into something that could actually transport small useful loads, would it still be more efficient than just using ejection mass to rocket things around mars instead? i kind of doubt it.
