It wanted revolution and the establishment of communism in Germany, following the Soviet model. At that time, like all the other parties, it also had its violent group in the streets, the Roter Frontkämpferbund, which would later be transformed into the Antifaschistische Aktion, or Antifa.
Finally, the NSDAP, Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, or National Socialist Party of German Workers, which would become known in history as the Nazi Party. They also had a violent protest group then, to make a counterpart to the other violent groups of the other parties. It was called the Sturmabteilung, which could be translated perhaps as storm brigade, but became known in history as brown shirts.
And the associations were not always as you might imagine. For example, the three arrows symbol, which is used today by antifa, actually came about with the iron front, of the socialist party that was opposed to the other three parties. In German it says, gegen papen, hitler thalman, or against papen, hitler and thalman. Notice: the first arrow is against the monarchy, against the DNVP, Franz von Papen was the main leader of the DNVP. The second arrow was against Nazism, against the NSDAP, Hitler needs no introduction, and finally the third arrow was against antifa. Ernst Thalmann, he was the leader of the communist party, the KDP, and he was the leader of antifa. The symbol used there was not the symbol of antifa, but the symbol of the party that commanded antifa. Curious to see how today antifa uses a symbol, the three arrows, that was originally contrary to itself.
Now, did you notice something? There is no fascist party there. Nazism is not the same as fascism. Do you know who are the fascists that antifa was created to be against? Exactly, the SPD, the socialists who were called fascists by the communists.
